Thanks to our funders (Generalitat Valenciana, Ministeri Espanyol de Ciencia i Investigacio, Academy of Medical Sciences and Teesside University) we are developing exciting projects!
Targeting actin protrusions
This is a National Funding Program from the Spanish Government to support a 4-year fellowship for a PhD Student - Irene Olivas Cano - who will perform her PhD in our lab at the CIPF.
Flipping the coin: 'Actin' for good - Targeting actin protrusion in invasion (FLIP-ACTIN)
Sponsor:
Ministeri de Ciència i Innovació – Agencia Estatal de Investigació del Ministeri Espanyol
This is a National Funding Program from the Spanish Government. Thanks to this funding, our Group at the CIPF in Valencia can start a new research Project related to how to stop cancer Cell invasion and further investigate mechanisms related to cell migration and invasion linked to metabolism. This funding includes support for a Research Assistant and a 4-year fellowship for a PhD Student!
Towards understanding the molecular basis of colorectal cancer in young adults

Sponsor:
Academy of Medical Science (AMS), United Kingdom
This funder awarded to Dr Mari Juanes with a highly competitive Springboard Award which offers a bespoke package of support to outstanding Early career Biomedical Researchers whose innovative projects have a real-world impact. Thanks to this, Dr Juanes built her own (and first) lab at the National Horizons Centre, a facility from Teesside University in the UK in 2021.
